Section Leaders and Choir Committee
The development of community, acceptance, trust and leadership skills within our students are some of the primary goals of the Plainfield Central Choral Department. Both Section Leaders and Choir Committee is a way for students to develop those skills. In cooperation with Mr. Rancatore, choir students can play an important role in the success of the our ensembles. Students are expected to serve as examples for all of our students through not only their words and actions, but also their rehearsal etiquette, general attitude, and overall involvement in the program. Chief among their responsibilities is the regular demonstration and support of the core values of our department:
Students in Treble Choir and Concert Choir will have the opportunity to apply for Section Leader positions at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Seniors and Juniors will have the opportunity to apply and interview for the position. Section Leaders will lead their sections on curricular and extracurricular repertoire, facilitate a positive, comfortable and productive environment for those in their sections and have strong musical, communication and social skills. In addition, they will work with Mr. Rancatore on a weekly basis regarding sectional agendas for both curricular and extracurricular ensembles,.
Any choir student can be apart of Choir Committee, regardless of grade level or choir placement. The goal is to work towards the betterment of the entire department, together. Choir Committee will meet virtually once a month to discuss new and exciting ways for students in the choir department to interact and strengthen bonds and friendship over the course of the academic year.
